PET by Mia V
I was sleeping in my bed. Then I felt something warm and wet.
I looked at my dog Ice cream. A black lab with pale blue eyes.
She looked at me sheepishly. Then I figured she had peed on my bed. For the fifth time!
I got out of bed then went outside. Ice cream followed me out, which was a bad thing because Ice cream liked to run. She is the kind of a dog that when you let outside she will run away. She ran and I chased her.
It was raining, raining hard but I still chased her.
I soon lost sight of her. I stopped running I knew I would not find her. But now I didn’t have to worry about Ice cream peeing on my bed and making a mess in the kitchen.
I walked home thinking about Ice cream.
When I got home I told my mom and dad what happened to Ice cream they cried and cried and cried but I didn’t cry. Then I felt something heavy in my hart. Then I cried to. Then I remembered the day I got her.
We went into the pound and I saw Ice cream and her pale blue eye looking at me. Her name was not Ice cream back then it was Rose. Then I know she was the one, she meant to be mine.
The next day I put some posters up. With Ice cream black faces show she was a black lab.
A week passed no Ice cream. Another week passed still no Ice cream. I began to worry that Ice cream would not come back.
I dreamt about Ice cream. I talked about Ice cream. I missed Ice cream.
One day we got a call from an old lady. Her scratchy voice said “I found your dog” “Ice cream!” I shouted cheerfully. “Where is your house?” I asked. “49 Kings Street” the old lady replied. “Thank you I’ll be right there.” then I hung up. “Mom!” I called “I’m going”
I got my bike out of the garage and started down the road. I thought about Ice cream and if she would miss me or not. When I got there, the old lady ran out of her house. She said “Your dog ran away!” “What!” I yelled. “What happened to her” I asked. “Well, I let her outside to play and she jumped over the fence.” I got on my bike peddled away. “I can’t believe it. I have waited so long and I was so eager to see Ice cream then poof she’s gone. Maybe I’ll never see her again!” I shouted to the sky. I didn’t know what to do. “Should I look for her”? I asked myself.
When I got home I herd a noise like a bunch of plats and spoons falling on the ground.
I went into the kitchen and saw Ice cream. But the kitchen was like a garbage can. But now I got Ice cream. “Ice cream where have you been and what did you do to the kitchen!” But I was so happy to see Ice cream. I called my mom and dad and we all hugged Ice cream. “Know I should never thing that you or anybody would never come back.” My mother said to Ice cream.
This time I felt my hart fly.
Days past and Ice cream started to behave better and no more peeing on my bed.
